Eclipse Metal Roofing is a residential standing seam company. We measure the roof, make the panels in our own shop in Van Nuys, and install them with our own crews. Our story
Roofing Since 2006
The company is owned by Uldi Zadok, who has been running roofing work in Los Angeles since 2006. Nearly 20 years in, the approach has narrowed rather than widened. Instead of offering every kind of roof, we chose one system and built the shop, the tools and the crews around doing it well: standing seam metal, on homes.
We are licensed by the California Contractors State License Board under license #888710, held by Eclipse Remodeling & Roofing Inc, doing business as Eclipse Metal Roofing. You can confirm it yourself on the CSLB license check by entering 888710.
Custom-Fabricated In-House
Every panel we install is custom-fabricated in our Van Nuys shop to the measured length of the roof plane it is going on. Ridge caps, valleys, wall flashings and edge trim are formed in the same shop from the same coil, so the pieces match in color and fit. When a roof needs a panel run longer, shorter or a little different from the plan, the shop that made the first one makes the next one.
No Subcontractors, Ever.
The people who install your roof work for us. We do not sell a job and pass it to another company. On standing seam that matters more than on most roofs, because so much of the quality sits in work nobody sees once it is finished: the deck, the underlayment, the flashing at every wall and opening, and the clips that let the panels move with the heat of the day.

What We Do, and How We Do It
- Standing seam metal roofing is our specialty. We also install other metal profiles, including corrugated metal and metal roofing that imitates shake, tile or slate.
- We work on homes. We are a residential company and do not take commercial or industrial roofs.
- We do not lay new panels over an old roof. The old covering comes off so the deck can be seen and repaired.
If what your house really needs is something we do not do, we will say so.
Process
How a Project Runs
- 01A visit. We come to the house, look at the roof and the attic where we can, and listen to what you want from the new roof.
- 02Measurements. Every plane, hip, valley, wall and penetration is measured, because the panels are made to those numbers.
- 03A written scope. You get a proposal that names the panel, the finish, the underlayment, the flashing details and what happens if damaged decking turns up.
- 04The permit. We pull the permit and schedule the inspections.
- 05Tear-off. The old roof comes off down to the deck, with your home and landscaping protected.
- 06The deck. Soft or damaged sheathing is repaired or replaced, and we show you what we find before we fix it.
- 07Underlayment and flashings. The waterproof layer goes on across the whole roof, then the flashings that are formed for your roof.
- 08Panels. Panels go up, the seams are locked, and the ridge and hips are capped.
- 09Cleanup. The site is cleaned, and you receive the closeout paperwork for your records.
Where we work
Malibu and the Coast
We work from Los Angeles and our Van Nuys shop, and Malibu is part of the area we serve, along with Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Santa Monica and the Westside. Coastal homes and canyon homes ask different things of a roof, and we plan each one for where it sits.
